I have been moving away from red meat yet I still like to enjoy poultry and fish. Eventually, my diet will consist of 100% plant-based meals, but let’s face it…baby steps when attempting to change a lifetime of bad food choices!

Let’s get right to this delicious recipe! I don’t believe in making people read long-winded stories just to fill a word count or to get a visitor to remain on my site for a certain period of time. (Yes, that is the reason you need to scroll or keep hitting next on a lot of sites before you actually get to what you want to see. You are welcome.)

The Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Lb Ground Turkey                1 Tbl water

1/4 tsp. soda                            3 Tbl Panko

1 1/4 Tbl soy sauce                 3 Tbl Parmesan

1 Tbl melted butter                   1/2 tsp gelatin

1/4 tsp black pepper                 1 tsp salt

Directions:

Important:  (Secret #1) Do NOT heat your skillet before placing these burgers into the pan. This will ensure even cooking and a nice, moist burger!

Begin by placing your burger into a bowl, and breaking it up gently. Add the panko, parmesan, gelatin, soy sauce, and salt and pepper. Next, drizzle the melted butter on top and begin to work these ingredients into the meat, forming 6 1/2-inch thick patties. (Secret #2) Do NOT overwork the meat or you will wind up with very dense burgers.

Next, add 2 Tablespoons of oil to your cold skillet and place your burgers into the pan, heating to medium-medium high.

Cover and cook for 1 1/2 minutes or until a nice brown crust forms on the bottom of your patties. Flip. Place your choice of cheese (optional) on top, cover, and Cook an additional 1 1/2 minutes, or until your meat thermometer reads 160º.

Pair with your favorite toppings and enjoy a delicious, moist turkey burger!

UPDATE:

Since I discovered the above recipe, America’s Test Kitchen has come up with another recipe that promises excellent results but uses home-ground turkey thighs instead of store-bought ground turkey. Here is the link to their Juicy Grilled Turkey Burgers by America’s Test Kitchen

I am still searching for the ultimate vegan burger. If you have a great (taste-tested) recipe for these, please email me: lisa@eachdayanew.com and I will showcase your recipe!

Vegan recipes are stealing the spotlight more and more these days and it seems to be obvious why: Better health, more energy, and Weight management are the top 3 reasons why people are choosing vegan or plant-based diets over the traditional meat and potato way of life.

Is it possible to enjoy both? I believe it is if we follow a good health plan, and the best health plan I have discovered is the one our Lord provided us. He spelled out exactly what is good for us to eat and those things we should avoid. I have touched upon this topic in an article I wrote entitled ( link) ⇒The Truth About Seafood. If you wonder about inflammation and where it comes from, you need to read that post!

In an upcoming post I will go deeper into the ultimate health plan, so please subscribe so you will not miss any important posts! I pray that anyone who reaches this site will e touched by the Holy Spirit and be blessed by His truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
