Losing A Pet Is Hard: A Petsies Product Review

Losing A Pet Is Hard

On October 17, 2020, my beloved cat Skeeter fell asleep forever.

Losing a pet is hard

We’ve had several pet cats over the years, (and we still have three here with us today). But she was the only one I ever had a deep bond with. Losing a pet is hard when that close bond is there.

Have you ever had that one special pet that was such a big part of your life in every way you knew he/she could understand your every word? That was my life with Skeeter! She was in tune with me. Even though she was 15 years old, she was still my baby.

The New Kid

I adopted Bob nearly 3 years ago at 3 months of age and made the mistake of bringing him into “skeeters room”. (My bedroom) Skeeter hated Bob and resented me. She refused to enter the room for over two weeks, and when she did it was to make it known that it was HER room and I was HER mom!

Skeeter never did accept Bob. Perhaps it was because he turned into a bully or she was becoming ill, or both, but she hid in her room so I set up her own litter box and food/water for her and we kept the door closed. No Bob’s allowed! she was much happier, not having to share her mom or her room!

The last year of her life was very challenging. I did everything possible to keep her healthy, yet there was a slow decline that could not be stopped. She would have good days when food could be kept down, but when she got sick I knew she felt bad because every time she would “warn” me when I got home by not really meowing but making an eh-eh kid of sound, telling me “don’t sit there, mom”

I missed her too much

Losing a pet is hard, but there is a way to keep your pet with you forever.

Pets Are Family

Read my previous post on Skeeter and my other feline friends to discover how much my pet family is cherished: Pets are family not possessions. If you are like me, then your pets are family and you would do anything to keep them healthy as I have and devastated when they die.

That is why it was such a delight to come across this company that strives to return your pet to you in this manner. It is a simple process:

  1. You submit three (3) photos of different angles.
  2. describe special markings, etc and
  3. in a month or so your special pet is returned to you to cherish forever.
