AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is a real threat and one to take seriously. I recently viewed a webinar that I thought was all about marketing books on Amazon and how to increase sales of your books. I was wrong about this and very glad that the Lord put this before me so that this writer can now warn others about this technology and how it threatens not only the world of literature but is beginning to take over other venues of employment.

This webinar explained how AI can be used to “write” not only school papers but whole books. Is this something to embrace? As a writer, NO! This is an insult to every writer on the planet, and threatens our very existence, just as it will threaten other secular jobs, and has already been implemented in some areas.

Self Service

Do you ever use the self-check-out areas in stores that offer them? I will confess that this is my preference in most instances unless I have an abundance of groceries. Using the self-check-out is also the only option available a lot of the time, because there are fewer checkouts open.

An article recently that stated a Nationwide chain would be hiring more people at check-outs due to a large number of complaints. Posts on social media have gone viral on this issue, some rather humorous, requesting pay to do someone else’s job.

AI In The Service Industry

All industries are now reporting that they use at least 20% artificial intelligence and this trend is growing at an alarming rate.

  • Self-driving cars
  • Restaurant servers
  • Drone delivery
  • Customer service
  • Chat prompts on websites

Is Your Job In Jeopardy?

If you have worked or do work in customer service or at least 18 other jobs, there may be cause for concern. Here is a list of jobs that are in jeopardy because of artificial intelligence:

  1. Marketing associate professionals
  2. HR and administrative professionals (I hardly speak to a real person, how about you?)
  3. Credit controllers (Keep an eye on your rating now)
  4. National government administrative occupations (scary thought)
  5. Civil engineers (How stable will our infrastructures be once AI begins building)
  6. Education advisors, including school inspectors (really? How is that possible?)
  7. Financial account managers (Not sure I trust that)
  8. Bookkeepers, payroll managers, and wage clerks
  9. Solicitors ( Oh my.)
  10. Legal professionals
  11. Psychologists ( I see nothing good about a machine analyzing my thoughts and feelings)
  12. Purchasing managers and directors

Those are just a few that I came across in my research. By the way, if I wanted to, this whole blog post could be researched and written using an AI program. Excuse me, but how lazy is that? And why would anyone want to except for one reason only and that is profit?

How Far Is Too Far?

How far is too far when it comes to using artificial intelligence? Where should we draw the line? This writer enjoys doing her research and learning new things each day. The brain is a terrible thing to waste, don’t you agree? Use it or lose it! I say this all of the time to one of our gals who resides in a group home I work in.

It may not be enjoyable to exercise yet if we do not use our limbs they will begin to atrophy and then what? We lose the ability to walk, dress ourselves, and do those mundane chores that are taken for granted, and will miss them once that freedom is lost.

The same is true of our brains. Use it or lose it. do I want a computer to write my books for me? Not. I may use a program to assist me with spelling or punctuation on occasion but every thought and word is my own and that is a very personal asset that needs to be kept in the world of literature.

The Future Is Not Looking Bright

By 2030, 1 out of 5 jobs will be replaced by AI, and if you watch the short video below you will see that AI does not and never will care for us. AI will never have to capability to show real human emotions and that is a very scary thought.

It will not be too long from now and the world we live in could be controlled by “Aliens”. These aliens will be man-made and they could very well take over the world. The movie industry has already shown us different scenarios, and even though these movies are based on fiction, just how far off are they from a soon reality?

I believe our heavenly Father has shown us this future, written in the Bible. “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” (Daniel 12:4 KJV)

As knowledge increases, our understanding of God’s plan should also increase. We should diligently seek His knowledge now because Jesus is returning soon and time is running out. AI is part of satan’s plan to destroy God’s children. “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:”(Proverbs 1:5 KJV)

What Protection Can We Have

Divine protection is available to anyone who desires it. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” (Matthew 7:7 KJV) Can we trust the Bible? My life has been changed and all I know is it was changed when I decided to seek Jesus and give my life to Him, and I was compelled to write as the spirit led me and to share my testimony and what God desires from His children in my book GOD KNOWS MY HEART: Will It Be Good Enough To Get Me Into Heaven?

I believe that the life we live on this earth does not end when we sleep the sleep of death. God promises so much more to His children! My prayer is that anyone who finds this blog will be inspired by the Holy Spirit to seek Jesus and accept His promise. In Jesus name, Amen.
