Teas: My Favorites

Good day!

Do you enjoy a cup of tea? I am a coffee in the morning drinker but when evening arrives I head to my tea shelf. One of my favorites is Vermont Maple Ginger from celestial seasonings. If you like maple syrup you will love this tea. It is not too sweet as one would think and the hint of ginger makes for a perfect combination. Add a touch of honey for extra yum.

Bigelow has a variety of teas I enjoy. Perfect peach is indeed perfect. Cozy Chamomile is comfort in a cup, Plantation Mint is a go-to if bothered with heartburn. I also grow mint in my flowerbed and have a supply of it all winter. Of course green tea is always on my shelf and I also enjoy a cup of dandelion for its detoxification properties. It is good to flush out your system at least once a week.

Summer heat is when I dabble in iced teas. All of the above are also great served over ice, but one of my all time favorites is Hibiscus. Here is how I make it:

1Cup organic hibiscus flowers to 6 cups of filtered water. simply dump the hibiscus into a pitcher, pour water over it and stir. Refrigerate over night then strain. I add 100% concord grape juice to a 50/50 ratio. Use your favorite juice. Hibiscus is a natural blood pressure reducer and can also help with blood sugar levels.
