#The New Normal is upon us friends. I don’t see it getting any better. There will be more viruses and diseases in the future and nobody is immune. I am taking the necessary precautions now so that I wont have to worry about trying to find these essentials later on. It just makes sense, doesn’t it? It is still hard to find rubbing alcohol to make my own sanitizer I use to spray on door handles, shopping carts, etc when the store has run out.

My opinion on face masks
Having worked in healthcare for the past 25 years, I feel I know a few things about keeping safe. I for one rarely become ill but that doesn’t make me immune. I wash my hands frequently and wear gloves while cleaning my clients’ homes. (I’m a home care specialist but have worked in facilities as a CNA).
I believe in social distancing and especially when you are ill. Just stay home when you don’t feel well. I know this is difficult yet it is the only way to keep other people safe. If one works in a hospital or other facility in close proximity to other people and patients, a healthcare grade mask should be worn. Do I feel it is necessary to wear a mask while out bike riding? NO! I have seen this and all I can say is that person will make herself severely ill. There are plenty of cloth masks out there that do nothing to protect you, especially if they do not fit snug to your face.
I will put a mask on to run into a store that pretty much requires it. A minute or two is fine with me, but I will not be breathing my own carbon dioxide for any extended length of time. Common sense tells me not to touch my face, which is how you catch any virus to begin, with unless someone coughs or sneezes within 10 feet in your direction and if you consciously practice NOT touching your face you protect yourself more.
