How Satan Twists God’s Word

Here is the very first lie – and how he twists God’s word-“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1)

How did satan twist this? Observe the original words of God in the previous chapter of Genesis 2:16-17:And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

God told Adam that he could freely eat of EVERY tree of the garden EXCEPT the tree of knowledge. Satan twisted His words by asking Eve:  didn’t God say that you shall not eat of every tree in the garden? How clever he is to ever so subtly get Eve to engage in the first instance of deception.

Both Adam and Eve were naive in these matters, as neither of them had known what sin was or what it meant to tell a lie. Satan really did not need to do much coaxing to make Eve curious about what he was saying. They were trusting as well, having only themselves and their creator to converse with.

What was there for them to fear in this perfect paradise that was created? No animal feared them as they fear us now. This serpent was no different, except that it was being used by Lucifer to deceive and destroy.

The First Mistake

Eve should have walked away, but curiosity probably got the best of her. She answered the talking serpent. Meaning to correct, she said they could eat from every tree in the garden, except the one in the middle. Then she made the mistake of adding if they did eat of this tree they would die.

Aha! Satan had her now. This time he pretty much calls God a liar and tells her that no, she wouldn’t die. He goes on to say that God didn’t want them to know everything, but the fruit from the forbidden tree would make her wise and be like God.

The first Waiver of Faith and disobedience

Here are those passages: from Genesis 3: 4-7:

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”

Satan Had Succeeded

Satan was successful in deceiving the first couple, yet He failed to get the jump on God because there was a plan from the beginning to rescue His creation. Lucifer has always been thwarted and will be destroyed in the end, but until that day comes he will do everything possible to turn humans away from God.

For every genuine creation of God, there is a counterfeit. The only way to know the counterfeit is to study the original so it is easier to spot the fake. How else does satan twist God’s word? He uses humans to do his dirty work. Anyone can be susceptible to being manipulated by the evil being spread in this world by satan and his fallen angels.

The Wolf Waits

If we sheep wander too far from the shepherd the wolf is always ready to snatch us away. Popular venues on the internet are responsible for leading many astray by allowing false information to be shared. Satan loves the internet and the movie industry! He also enjoys the music industry just as long as it is promoting his darkness.

Some are pulled into this web of deceit and are unable to decipher fact from fiction. A lie is easily accepted if it is repeated long enough. I know some non-believers will use this statement to raise the same argument against the existence of God, saying that if you read the bible enough times you may begin to believe it’s true!

My friends, if you read the Bible and take a look at our own history and events of the past you will see for certain that every word of the Bible is true. When you begin to actually study God’s word, learn when each book was written, and read the genealogy and timeline of each author it becomes clear.

It will become clear that the conspiracy theories raging about this and that are indeed the real conspiracy, and that is to distract God’s people from what really matters: Salvation and winning souls to His kingdom.

If you search outside of the Bible to find God’s word one thing is certain: You will find no truth. Only Satan’s lies. Some people believe that there are lost books of the Bible and/or books that were removed. This is not true. God has protected His word and everything He inspired HIs people to write is in there.
