Welcome! Are you curious about what dangerous doctrines are and how to avoid deception? I’m happy you stopped by because this is my topic for today. Satan absolutely loves to deceive people, especially when they are seeking to follow Jesus! (See: Satan: The father of lies)

What Are Dangerous Doctrines?

We know that Lucifer (Satan) knows the Bible better than anyone except Jesus, and He has been twisting God’s word from the very beginning in order to deceive us. For example, in the garden of Eden Satan fooled Eve by telling her the opposite of what God had said:

Genesis Chapter 3:

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

How did the Devil fool Eve? By twisting God’s word. When God said on the day they eat of the forbidden tree they would die; They did die, spiritually, and they would not live for eternity as God had planned. Having their eyes opened to good and evil the Lord had to ban them from the wonderful garden and the tree of life.

Adam and Eve were now mortal and slowly began to age. In that time period, people lived a lot longer than we do today. This is not only because of sin entering the world but other factors as well, such as environment and diet. Also, there are instances when a day is equal to a thousand years in the Bible. Mainly in prophecy. However, nobody lived to be over 1,000 years old after the fall of man. Interesting isn’t it?

Who Can Forgive Sins?

One very important dangerous doctrine is the one in which we are led to believe that a priest has to power to forgive sins. This is very dangerous because the Bible clearly states that the only way to God’s kingdom is through Jesus, who He gave to the world in propitiation for all of our sins. Only by approaching God in sincere prayer to confess and repent will sins be forgiven.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
  • 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Once Saved Always Saved

Satan would have us believe that all we need to do is claim Jesus as our savior, get baptized, and bam…all good! This is another of his dangerous doctrines. Can we clean our house once and expect it to stay clean? No. We have to regularly maintain it, don’t we?

Being saved is a life-long commitment that requires effort, just as a marriage requires commitment and nurturing. It is a process of growth and learning as well.

Live As You Please

The most dangerous of all doctrines is this one: It doesn’t matter how we live our lives, as long as we believe in God. Satan wants everyone to believe this one for sure because this will guarantee that you will NOT be accepted into God’s kingdom. You can’t live in sin and expect to be redeemed!

A prime example of hypocrisy: party like it’s 1999 all week and then attend a church service claiming to be a Christian. Did Jesus drink alcohol? Read about that here. Learn about hypocrisy in Christian or hypocrite?

We Go To Heaven When We Die?

We go to sleep when we die. The sooner people realize this the better. This is another dangerous doctrine. If we go to heaven when we die, there would be no reason for the resurrection when Jesus returns, would there? This is why it is so very important to READ THE BIBLE. STUDY IT. We cannot be led astray in these important subjects!

Once we learn what really happens when we die, it is easier to accept. Our loved-ones are not watching over us from above, and they certainly are not able to visit us. They are dead. If they were followers of Christ then they are asleep in Christ, waiting for His return. The next thing they will see is Christ coming in the clouds with all of the angels to redeem His faithful followers! For more information: What happens when we die?

It’s not important what we eat or drink

God created a health plan for everyone from the very beginning yet many have been deceived into believing that unclean foods were made clean after Jesus died on the cross. Not true! The laws concerning the sacrifices and feast days were nailed to the cross but what is considered clean and unclean food remained the same. I have recently discovered a very good website that has an extensive list of these foods. Visit: theisraelofgodrc.com

I hope you have found this post to be helpful and please stop by again because there will be more! Until next time, make each and every day count for something!
