Can Bad Luck Be A Good Thing?

When can bad luck be a blessing in disguise? Have you ever discovered that being a few minutes late for an appointment actually saved your life because had you been in a certain spot at a precise moment you would have been involved in that 3 car accident or may have been the one to hit that deer, but since you were delayed it didn’t happen?

Does Everything Happen For A Reason?

Is there a master plan for each of our lives, with each second, minute, hour, and year laid out until the moment of death? If you think that everything does happen for a reason, we have absolutely no control over our lives, do we?

If each second is laid out, each word I am now typing has already been predetermined to bring me to the end of this sentence. What a fascinating thought! Who is in control of my mind? This is the stuff that leads to madness. The stuff that satan dreams up to confuse and ultimately lead us away from the truth.

You were born with free will and will make your own decisions. You choose which direction you will travel in this life. Certain influencers are always present, but ultimately each of us is in control.

Good Luck Or Blessing?

So, if bad luck exists so does good luck. Or do they? What if neither one exist and each is in fact a mere consequence of a decision or action made? We have all heard about someone who has been lucky. Think about that missed accident because something caused a delay in leaving the house. Was it luck or divine intervention?

How about “Jim” who gets that big promotion at work ahead of ten other people yet nobody thinks he deserved it because he never worked overtime or came in on weekends. Is that luck? Perhaps he was simply blessed because he worked hard, did an honest job, and never missed a day of work since he was hired. Who did the blessing?

Consider these Blessings

James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Luke 6:38 – Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
2 Corinthians 9:8 – And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Matthew 6:30-33 – Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Philippians 2:13 – For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

If There Are Blessings, There Are Curses

Who does the cursing?

Is it that bad karma coming around? There may be something to this theory because it is also written in our manual these:

Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

2 Corinthians 9:6 – But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Those who say that whatever you put out into the universe it will come back to you may say they do not believe in God yet they do because God created the universe and everything in it.

Lucifer rules over the earth

Jesus even confirms this at the last supper when he says: (John 14:30 ) Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”

Satan enjoys it when people blame all of their calamities- or bad luck- on God or the universe when it is he who is responsible!

Guardian Angels

Exodus 23:20 – Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

Hebrews 13:2 – Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Matthew 18:10 – Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Each of us does have an angel and if you think hard enough I am sure an incident will come to mind that you explained away as luck when in fact it was an angel who came to your aid. The Lord has so many angels it is impossible to number, and if there are that many on God’s side, just think about one-third of those who were cast down to earth with Lucifer!

Bad Influences

Ever have a friend your parents would say is a bad influence? Do these bad influences still exist as grownups? Yes, they do, and in many different forms. They can be seen on billboards along a highway, on television ads, and pop up everywhere on phone or computer screens.

It is virtually impossible to avoid the many different forms of bad influences. The music industry is embracing it as well with rap music and heavy metal bombarding the airwaves.

Society Embraces Sin

What is a typical family in this era we now live in? Without considering color, a typical family has been described in the past as a father, mother, child, or children and their beloved pet(s). What does our handbook say about a family?

Ephesians 5:31

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” 

What were the newly created Adam and Eve told? In the very beginning, Genesis 9:7 God said: “And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.”

According to our handbook (The Holy Bible), This is the only family that our creator condones and will bless. All others are an abomination to Him and He makes this clear also. This is Bible truth I am sharing, not my personal opinion. I just want to make this clear. God is the ultimate judge and we are so relieved that He is. I do not want His job.

Leviticus 18:22 – Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:26 – For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature

1 Corinthians 6:9 – Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

The Truth Will Set You Free

Only by reading and studying the Bible will we learn all of the truth set before us. We can trust The Bible and what it contains.
