When Does Being Different Matter?
So when does being different matter? What is considered different in the time we now live in? Does it even matter anymore if you are being different than anyone else?
This writer has been asking herself these questions and is also wondering if anyone else has pondered this issue. First off, let’s explore the main question:
What Is Being Different?
Is being different when you do not dress like everyone else, wear the same hairstyles, or act the same way as all of your friends? How about how you speak, and treat other human beings and animals or the people you hang out with? do you choose to blend into the crowd or strive to stand out from everyone else?
Being different these days has gone a step or two further. Being different has taken on a whole new meaning. From my standpoint being different means you are a heterosexual married to your spouse who is of the opposite sex.
What is Normal In Today’s Society
Living in the world today is far from normal. Today it is considered normal to identify as a male even though one was born female. I was a “tomboy” growing up and can relate to feeling like more of a boy than a girl sometimes when I was a youngster, yet I still know that I am a female and will never be anything but female. A child of 5 is not mentally or physiologically mature enough to know that he/she was not born in the correct body of that which he/she identifies as.
Gender Dysphoria
Formerly called gender identity disorder, this condition is described as one who is severely conflicted between the biological gender one is born with and what they believe they should really be.
Why is gender dysphoria so prevalent now and on the rise at an alarming rate? Is something in the water, the food we eat, or something being sprayed into the air? There is no simple answer to this, yet there may be a logical one that most people these days would not consider if anyone dares to broach this subject to uphold the fact that there are only two genders you are considered biased or prejudiced.
Theybe?
Is this even a word? I am willing to bet that it will be in the next updated edition of the Miriam Webster dictionary. The first time this term came to my ears I was watching a morning newscast and the anchors were interviewing a woman who was describing how she addresses her children as “they” and not he or she, because they aren’t sure what they want to identify as, yet. Did I hear this correctly? I directed my attention to the TV and confirmed this. Yes, I heard this correctly and the headline was there. “Theybe’s”
The parent who was being interviewed was very sincere in the way she spoke as if this were as natural as discussing how the sun rises each day or if it may rain. Am I wrong in believing that this way of raising any child only works to confuse him or her from the very beginning of their fragile lives?
I was born in 1967. I grew up knowing that one was either born male or female and there is nothing in between. As a child, I remember pretending to be a cat or dinosaur. These days there are people who are actually transforming themselves into these creatures and it is a little more than frightening.
How Far Is Too Far
I know that every person has the right to be who they want to be. This is not about human rights in the way some would argue. This is about child development and the effect this type of child-rearing will have upon a youngster. This is taking “you can be whatever you want to be” way beyond what they were born to be.
Am I the only one who sees what is happening? What do the scriptures say about the world today?
Isaiah 5 speaks about the evils in the world today. Verses 20 and 21 are pretty clear:
21Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
How Many Genders Were Created?
As a Bible-believing Christian, it is easy to answer this question by opening God’s word to Genesis 1:27
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
How many do we see here? There are two genders and not just in human form, but in His animal kingdom as well. A male and a female. How can there be any more than two? Yet the father of all lies has twisted the miracle of creation as well and the proof is all around us.
Is Being Different Actually Normal Then?
1 Peter 2:9 tells us: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
Yes, compared to the world today, Christians are indeed a peculiar people, as those who follow Christ do not follow the world or those things in the world. What did Jesus tell His followers?“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1John 2:15 KJV
Being different matters to our salvation
Do you believe this to be true? Or are you unsure about exactly what our heavenly Father expects from us? I was unsure until my eyes were opened. Most of my life was spent in darkness and I give thanks and praise to God every day for my ongoing salvation, which I share in a newly released book: GOD KNOWS MY HEART: Will It Be Good Enough To Get Me Into Heaven?
I gave my heart to Jesus in my late 40s, having no idea what to do or where to go in order to grow closer to Him and once I was shown the truth I grew so much in my faith that it made me cry to think about how lost I really was. The Lord gifts each of us with skills to use in order to carry on His mission. I now use mine to share His gospel and plan of salvation with the world. He does not want anyone to be lost.
I am now writing another and pray that my readers will come to know that He will return soon and all are worthy to accept His gift of redemption. We are nearing the end of a spiritual warfare created by Lucifer before our world was ever here.
