Healthy Treats For Your Pets
Hi friends!
If you are like me then your pets are more than pets they are family. As you may know, we have 4 fur babies in our home, all cats. One is finicky and has her favorite taste preference. The other three are more willing to gobble just about anything.
Providing healthy food for our pets is important, and in some cases, a supplement is needed. I provide a daily supplement for my cats to aid in skincare. Not long ago we had a flea outbreak (what a nightmare) and with monthly flea treatments, it took a toll on their skin.
Healthy treats are not only a way to change things up but they help to keep our pets at their best and we want them around for as long as possible, don’t we?
I grew up with dogs and I have a good recipe for you dog lovers I will share:
The liver and other organ meats are an essential part of the natural diet
of wild canines and felines. Here’s a tasty way to serve it to your
domesticated pooch or kitty.
Ingredients:
1 lb. beef liver, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp. dried parsley
Procedure:
1. Dry the liver slices by blotting them with a paper towel, and then
dust them with parsley.
2. Transfer the liver to a greased cookie sheet, and bake for 30
minutes at 325°F.
3. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven, flip the liver slices, and
then bake for another 20 minutes.
4. Once the liver is cooked, transfer to a cooling rack. Once cool, cut
into bite-sized cubes.
Store in the refrigerator and consume within one week. If stored in the
freezer, this can stay fresh for up to three months.

A healthy pet is a happy pet, and this means fewer trips to the vet! I know the cost of a vet visit all too well so I try to keep my cats as healthy as possible. And as Mr. Bob Barker always said “Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered!”
By providing plenty of fresh water, healthy food and exercise we can keep our pets at their optimum health levels for many years. I do not buy cheap generic food either. My cat Skeeter developed bladder stones a few years ago and that expense was enough to change up the food I bought. I look for the healthiest ingredients that contain no corn or fillers of any kind.
