What Is A Soul?

Many people believe that a soul resides within the body that flies away upon death. Some souls go straight to heaven, some go down to hell, and still, others remain stuck here on earth to remain for some reason to haunt the living.

Now I ask any reasonable person, does this sound ridiculous? This was my belief as well because this was what I was taught to believe. Sleeping In Christ

So we have just read that death is described as sleep. What does this mean for those who do and those who don’t believe in God? For a follower of Christ (A Christian) it means there is life after death when Jesus returns! On that day all who love and follow Jesus will be resurrected, given glorified bodies, and be caught up in the clouds to meet Him.

Those who are still alive will be instantly changed to immortal bodies and will ascend to the clouds as well to enjoy eternity, free of sickness! There will be no more death or disease. Refer to this verse:

What Must We Overcome?

According to God’s word, we must overcome the sins of this world and become more like Jesus. Nobody will ever be perfect. Jesus was/is perfect and remains the only one who lived a perfect life while He was on Earth. We are all sinners and fall short each and every day, in our actions, thought, and words.

We must seek the Lord daily and ask forgiveness, repenting of our sins. It can be hard to let go of the habits and traditions that go against God’s commandments, yet it is possible. I am living proof that you can overcome any sin with God on your side!

It was daily prayer that set me free from my 39-year-old pack-a-day smoking addiction! It was daily prayer that set me free from alcohol as well. I have no desire for either of these sins thanks to God removing them from my life! Yes, smoking and drinking are both sins. Read Romans 12:1
