Incredible! I am a paid writer
Becoming a paid writer (again) after being out of the freelance circuit since 2008 is a literal dream come true. I have been working in healthcare since the early ’90s. I took a break in 2006-2008 to attend an online school that proved fruitless yet yielded large tuition.
My Life’s Dream
This past year I set a goal to revive my freelance writing career and do it before Winter sets in so that I don’t have to fight our Minnesota winter yet again.
Don’t get me wrong. I have enjoyed helping others working as a PCA and Home Health Aide. But when your body begins to complain about carrying loads of laundry and shopping bags it’s time to hang it up.
At the age of 54, the mornings are less pleasant and in the winter the last thing I want to do is leave my nice warm bed when the snow is piling up outside and the roads will be unsafe. I have too many years of this under my belt. It’s time to pass it on to the younger generation.
I have continued to write over the years. This very blog was started in 2019 as a means to share my experiences with products via my review pages, and also my testimony and journey to faith. I believe it is my personal relationship with Jesus that helped me achieve this life-long dream. I thank the Lord for all of my successes.
A Plan Of Action
Being that it has been years since I have written for a client, I checked into my old platform called Elance but discovered it no longer existed and was called something else. I then stumbled onto some information about these “writing mills” and discovered that even back in 2008 I was writing for peanuts.
I continued my research and discovered the freelance writer’s den. It was way above my budget but signed up for the mailing list and a few months ago the opportunity arose to join at a discounted rate. I had a gut feeling (I now call divine) so I joined and it was the best decision I ever made.

Failure Is Not An Option
The only way anyone would fail at earning a living as a writer is if they did not put in any effort. I became a den member a few short months ago and have been going through the boot camps and watching training videos and completing my member profile.
I received an email from a company representative offering me an opportunity to write blog posts. She had seen my profile in the den! This is my dream job, and by reading the forums and listening to podcasts I was confident enough to submit a proposal that allowed me to write my own paycheck.
Pinch Me: It’s Not A Dream
I am now earning more by writing one blog post than I do working for a full week as a part-time PCA. I am ready to submit my resignation and earn a living full-time as a paid writer. Joining the den has given me the tools and confidence to put myself out there again and succeed!
