How To Safely Clean And Sanitize Your Phone

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all doing well and keeping healthy, which brings me to my topic:

How To Safely Clean And Sanitize Your Phone

Our phones are probably the dirtiest objects we have and these days it is important to keep them clean and sanitized. How often do you clean your phone and other devices? I will admit that until recently I rarely took the time to thoroughly clean mine because I am the only one who touches it, I never set it down in a bathroom and it’s in my pocket the majority of the time. Well…it still needs a good cleaning at least once per day.

Step One

Power off your phone/device. Clean the screen of fingerprints, smudges, and bacteria using a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth.

This will ensure a scratch-free cleaning because paper towels and other seemingly soft cloths can still leave scratches. And avoid using alcohol and other cleaning solutions because this will damage the oleophobic coating on the screen that helps to prevent smudges. I wasn’t aware of this either until recently. To disinfect your phone and other devices, use ammonia-free disinfectant wipes. Since these are hard to find commodities these days, there is an excellent option available and this is a 3-in-1 portable UV Sanitizer.

Step Two

Clean the shell. Remove the case if you use one and make your own sanitizer using a mixture of 60% alcohol 40% water. Pour into a spray bottle and mist the entire surface. Let sit for one minute and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Set aside and clean the shell of your phone by using a small amount of your spray on a clean cloth and wipe the outside surface. Be careful not to get any cleaning solution into the microphones, etc. Never use a hairdryer on any device or it could warp. You paid good money for these devices so better safe than sorry when cleaning them, right?

Step Three

Clean all accessories. Wipe cords and earbuds down with your cleaning solution. Set aside to dry thoroughly before use. A rubber phone case can go into the dishwasher on the top rack for sanitizing.

Cleaning Your Laptop

Use a quality screen cleaner.

Avoid compressed air. I use a slightly moist but not dripping Qtip to clean between the keys and surrounding areas. Always power off your computer or laptop before cleaning to avoid damage. A clean (new) dry 2″ paintbrush works great too. Lightly brush pet hair and dust away from between the keys and speakers.

Use A Portable Sanitizer

In this age of technology, a portable sanitizer is a  very good option because you never have to worry about running out of the cleaner and it can be used anywhere to ensure that your phone will remain clean. As an essential worker, I am still out of my home all week and this is the best option for me. I simply put my phone in while taking my short break. It is the easiest and most reliable way to safely clean and sanitize your phone.

The UV rays used to assure that your phone is completely sanitized have been tested and shown to be 100% effective at killing bacteria and germs. Check out this 3-in-1 portable sanitizer that not only cleans your phone but will charge it too. It is compatible with iPhones and Androids.
