Satan: The Father Of Lies And Deception
Does Satan really exist? Oh yes and he really is the father of lies and deception. In fact, he invented the first lie ever told and continues to work upon that foundation in this world that he rules. Why have I chosen this subject? Because Lucifer would like nothing better than for his existence to remain a “myth.”
The fewer people believe in the devil the less they will believe in God himself, and if the world stops believing in God they become lucifers to manipulate as he pleases until the time comes when they can no longer make the choice to follow Jesus to salvation and the eternal life He promises upon His return. Satan, the father of lies and deception is glorified by our losing faith in our creator.
Satan shouts with glee each time He hears another soul giving in to sin. His fallen angels delight in doing his bidding: sowing the seeds of deception far and wide. The sins of the flesh are many and spreading as the parable of the wheat and tares proclaim:
Matthew 13:24-30 “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
Satan’s Most Popular Lie
In the beginning, Satan twisted God’s word saying: You will surely not die but your eyes will be opened and become like God.
What was God’s word? “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” Genesis 3
They would lose their immortality, not drop dead on the spot:
| 3:24 | So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. |
And Satan knew this. He also knew these people were naive and would be easily fooled.
| 3:4 | And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: | |||
| 3:5 | For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. |
This is why it is important to study God’s word. We need to learn Bible truth in order to avoid all of the lies Satan, the father of lies and deception is sowing all over this world. He knows his time is short and wants YOU to die the second death!
What is the second death?
Once we die:
we are either dead in Christ (those who love and follow Jesus) or we are lost souls and are considered the wicked dead. I want to die a Christian!
When Jesus returns at his second coming:
- His faithful followers (the wheat) will be gathered up to meet Him in the clouds
- The tares (the wicked) shall be burned up.
We who sleep in Christ
- ( Dead Christians) will be resurrected
- The wicked dead will remain in their graves until after the 1,000-year reign
The wicked dead
- Are raised (2nd resurrection) and die the 2nd death
Revelation 20:14
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
