COME AS YOU ARE
Ever ask what you should wear to a gathering and hear: “Come as you are?”
You still wonder though, as you glance over your closet, not wanting to over or underdress, lest you attract unwanted attention to yourself and become the victim of glares or stares of other guests. Yet, this is exactly what we are being told by our creator: come as you are. He will do His good work within all who submit to His will, transforming us from within, but we need to go to Him.
Have you avoided attending Church or Bible studies because you think you need to “clean up ” before you go? I have good news for you: He already sees you and is waiting for you to enter into His abode where He will scrub you clean! Listen to Isaiah 64:6: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
We are all in this state of unrighteousness until Jesus enters our lives and presents us with a pure white robe upon HIs return. Nobody is free of sin. We must go to Him as we are, knowing that He has seen us at our worst and still waits to redeem us! His love knows no bounds and the only limitations between us and Him are the ones we place in between of our own accord.
Change From Within
Titus 3:3-7 tells us this:
3)For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5)Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6)which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7) That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
This tells us that there are no works that we can perform to receive His gift of everlasting life. We are gifted His mercy, being saved by grace through faith.
17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
When we are baptized into His faith, we are born again. This is the beginning of a new life. Each day, after we renew our faith by giving thanks, asking for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and allowing Him to do that good work within us, which He has promised to do.
Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the return of Jesus Christ.”
I know this is true because I am nowhere near the person that I was ten years ago. I was ashamed of myself looking back upon my old life and since giving my heart to Jesus I feel loved, accepted, and forgiven as nobody could ever offer me. This is life in Christ.
We are washed clean with the blood of the lamb who was slain on the cross at Calvary. His life was sacrificed so that we may have the promise of life everlasting upon His return.
Being a Christian means following Christ’s teachings and striving to reflect Him in our own lives and how we treat others.
Read STEPS TO CHRIST and learn how to receive Him into your heart to change your life forever.
All glory to God, and may anyone who reads this be brought closer to our creator and savior. In Jesus name, Amen.
In A Wicked World

If you believe you need to get rid of those vices before going to Jesus, remember, that He says come as you are! He sees our flaws and waits to redeem us from a life of sin. Choose life! He loves you!
