4 Ways To Share Your Faith
Are you looking for effective ways to share your faith? Is it difficult to approach this subject with some people? It’s not you, it’s a sign of the times we live in, and it will not get any easier.
Why Bother?
Isn’t it the Pastor’s job?
What does Jesus say about sharing the gospel? Take a look at these verses:
Hebrews 13:16 – But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Mark 16:15-16 – And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
These verses are still relevant today. In fact, even more so, given the time that we live in. You see, Jesus will not return until HIs word has been shared everywhere: Matthew 24:14 says: “And this gospel shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
WE as Christians-followers of Christ- have been commissioned to share the good news of the gospel. Not only that but your own personal testimony as well, which leads me to the 1st way to share your faith.
Way #1 to share your faith: Your personal testimony
How and when did you choose to give your life to Christ? Many people are born into a Christian home, yet even with this background, it had to be you, by your own free will who chose to follow Christ.
I have shared my own testimony and will do so briefly again here. I was not born into a Christian home. Just the opposite. My parents were both heavy drinkers and smokers until health issues took their lives at fairly young ages. I am both incest and domestic abuse survivor who lived a life far from the Lord.
My journey to faith began in my 40s and continues today. Jesus gave me the victory over my own demons and I am not ashamed to share my faith or my testimony with anyone. I live a new life, having been baptized into God’s family. I am blessed.
God never has and will never force anyone to love Him. We all have free will and this is a huge part of the ongoing controversy between Lucifer and God. Lucifer claims that God is controlling. Lucifer used this accusation to win over 1/3 of God’s angels who were ultimately cast to earth along with Lucifer.
This fallen angel has always wanted to sit on God’s throne and to have His power along with the worship. This jealousy and his pride are what caused this earth to fall. This controversy rages on today and will continue until Jesus returns to destroy evil once and for all.
Way To Share #2
Social media is one way I use to share the gospel, and as you know, so is this blog post you are reading right now. One drawback of social media is most people scroll and ignore, only interested in the latest celebrity gossip or other distractions that Satan uses. For every good thing, there will be the opposite!
I set up a page on Facebook that has over 200 members now and share videos from both my church and amazing facts.com. I only share sources I trust and know that only use the Bible as their source of information. False doctrine is everywhere and to know if the person or website is sharing the word of God and ONLY the word of God you need to study the Bible yourself.
Way to Share #3
Leave informational brochures and other calls to action in public places. I would not suggest restrooms, as most people associate this area with unclean. Waiting rooms at the dentist, optometrist, or laundromats are good places. Apartment buildings are good places. I would visit people when working as a homecare worker and leave signs magazines and other materials on the tables in the community rooms, etc.
Way to Share #4
Volunteering is a wonderful way to share the word. Serving food or clothing depots, or bell ringing during the holiday season. Have a supply of materials small enough to hand out, such as bookmarkers with a message or pocketbooks. Here is an offer for you personally and I guarantee that it is worth the effort.
