Learn Bible Truth On Death
If you were born, then you were handed the ultimate death sentence. Death is the one thing nobody can escape. Does anyone ask to be born? I never asked to be born, and as I grew and learned about life and finally death as well, the thought came to me: it’s not fair! What is Bible truth on death?
Up until the past few years my life was really empty. Sure…I have a few friends and a job that gives me satisfaction in the fact that I am a home health aid and spend my days helping others. I believe it was my calling, to help people because I’ve worked in healthcare for over 25 years now. We certainly aren’t in it for the money!
What Is The Meaning Of Life?
Is that all life is about…working, paying the bills, worrying about tomorrow, growing old and then we die? Until recently, I believed that life had no meaning…we’re born, live a few years, and look forward to death. How many of you have lived your lives working all week and looking forward to that Friday night drink at the bar with friends?
Work hard, play hard is the main motto of life, isn’t it? Satan wants everyone to believe this and he works very hard to discredit Bible truth. Lucifer knows the good book better than anyone and loves to twist it!
Bible Truth On Death: Immortality Lost
Did you know that we were meant to live forever? When God created Adam and Eve they were perfect in every way. They had access to the tree of life that grew in the garden of Eden. With this food, they would live forever. Imagine eating from a tree that was life-giving!
Genesis 2:9 – And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Then Lucifer, aka Satan (the serpent} twisted God’s word to deceive the woman and make her eat of the one tree God commanded they do not touch. 16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17
The First Lie Ever Told
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Did They Die That Day?
Satan knew exactly what God meant when He said they would surely die. When They disobeyed God and their eyes were opened, they lost their immortality when they were banned from the garden and could no longer eat from the tree of life. They didn’t die that day, but they began to die slowly, as we still do today.
The Good News About Death
Revelation 2:7 – He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
What does this mean? Anyone who overcomes sin and follows Jesus will be saved from death on the day He returns.
Revelation 22:14 – Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
